Anniversary Sale!

Audrey Socks

Audrey Socks

Fifteen years ago this spring, I picked up knitting needles for the first time. It was …s l o w… going. I did NOT catch on right away. It took a heck of a lot of ripping out and starting over and frustration and persistence. Thank goodness for the persistence, y’all.

In honor of 15 years of knitting, I am having a sale in my pattern shop here at KnitOasis.com. From today, April 15 (get it?) for 15 days (I know, I’m silly) all patterns will be half price (because 15% off is not ok!). Included are the newest listings, Audrey Socks, Dauntless Pouch, and Lines in the Sand Scarf. These have been used, as most of my others have, in classes, but never before published online. I’m so excited to share them with you!

You won’t need a coupon code—just head over to the Patterns for Sale page and load up your cart!

Special Times = Special Classes

Online classes! That’s right, I have figured out how to offer online classes while one and all are cooped up avoiding close contact with people .

What you’ll need to do:

  1. Download the Zoom app to your tablet or smart phone

  2. Pick a class! Or let’s talk about a private lesson

  3. Gather supplies…I’ll do my best to keep a current list of open online yarn purveyors. For the purpose of online classes, I will attempt to have small in-class projects, so your yarn needs for learning will hopefully be manageable. But you’ll definitely want to use light or bright yarn colors so I can see what you’re doing!

  4. At class time, log in to the meeting/class with the info I will send you. Situate yourself in a well-lit, quiet space and get ready to learn something new!

I’m so excited to be able to connect with you and knit (or crochet!) with you!

Year of the Sweater: Resources

We are learning so many things along the way as we knit our sweaters. Fellow knitters make great resources and being able to share our knowledge and experience is one of my favorite reasons to knit in a group!

Some sweater (and other) knitting help gleaned from our little group (plus a pic of the latest progress)

Sweater progress plus a bonus sock!

And a little knitting math: Evenly space your increases and decreases

Year of the Sweater

11007_M_Reg_LS_V_Nk_T_sketch_jpeg__94346.1514693024.1000.1200.jpg

We are finally going to do it! I’ve said for years, “It’s time to knit another sweater.”

The time is NOW!

Join us starting Saturday, Jan 25 at 9. Bring your chosen pattern and whatever you’ll need to knit it. Cast on with us or bring what you’ve already started. The goal: peer pressure! We can keep each other knitting and have a sweater to show for it.

FAQ:

*Which sweater pattern are we knitting? Any one you want! This is not a traditional knit-a-long where everyone knits the same thing. Find a pattern that sparks your interest, get your yarn, needles, and supplies and come work on your sweater with us.

*Is there a fee to participate? Only if you need help! Since everyone I know is at a different experience level, I wanted to open up this journey to anyone. If you would like pattern or technique help, I will be available to assist ($10/person/session). If you don’t need help and just want to knit with us, there is no fee.

*What if I can’t make every session? No worries—come when you can! We will all want to see your project when you finish, though!

*How often will you meet? My goal is two times a month. (1/25, 2/15, 2/29, 3/14, 3/28)

*How long will it last? Till March? I don’t know—how fast y’all want to knit??
